About FoCUS

Facts on Care in the US (FoCUS) was created by investigators from the Brown University Department of Health Services, Policy & Practice (HSPP), Center for Gerontology & Healthcare Research (CGHCR), and in collaboration with investigators from Johns Hopkins University, Dartmouth College, and Vanderbilt University. FoCUS is a product of the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Treatment and Outcomes in America: Changing Policies and Systems project supported, in part, by the National Institute on Aging (P01 AG027296). 

 

FoCUS is designed for a broad audience, including researchers, journalists, and policymakers. Our project is a comprehensive, data-driven effort to understand and improve post-acute and long-term care in the US, with a special focus on the care provided to people living with dementia. By linking policy, market, and organizational factors to utilization and outcomes, FoCUS provides the tools for researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders better understand how care is organized and delivered.
